just like the journals i used to keep as a child,
where i would write out my thoughts and feelings,
paste cut-outs of things i saw in magazines that i liked,
or write lyrics to songs that moved me...
this is my digital scrapbook.
and when a hundred pages were filled,
i'd start fresh on a hundred more.
This may be the most beautiful song I’ve ever heard. (Or it’s just the one of the moment. Don’t you love how you feel like that after you hear a song for the first time? Why can’t a song always sound as beautiful as the first time we heard it? Sometimes it loses its magic and that’s sad. Anyway, I digress.) And I’m deeply ashamed that the way I came to know it was from watching a horribly predictable and cheesy chick flick with my mom. Ah well. ;)
PS - Pay no attention to the cheeseball video, just listen to the song. kthnx.
So, I just got back from Jamaica (Montego Bay) and am already missing it so, so much. Not only is the country itself beautiful but so are the people and I have a whole new appreciation for reggae music. This song is my new favourite song and I’ve already told Dave it should be our song, because it is part of a wonderfully memorable moment we had down there. When we went off the resort for one night to this bar downtown, the cab driver played it for us on the drive. I was so blissed out in the back of that cab having had a couple drinks in me and being in such a beautiful place with my guy. I’ll never forget that feeling. Every time I listen to it, I can almost still feel the Jamaican night breeze flowing through the sunroof of the cab. Le sigh.
(Apologies for the cheesy video - the version of the song I have is mp4, not mp3 so Tumblr wouldn’t let me upload it!)
